FAQ

Is there a dress code?

We hope our wedding will be a fun reason for you to dress up, therefore the dress code is semi-formal. Here's another link with photos! If you're not sure about your wedding day attire, please text one of us and we can help you out! :)

How will I make it to the ceremony site?

The Ceremony site, the Children's Theatre in the Woods is a short walk from the Reception site. We will have a National Park Ranger on standby with a golf cart for folks that need to use it to go down to the Ceremony site and back up to the Reception.

COVID-19 Concerns

This is a long FAQ, but important.

We understand that the situation is in constant flux, but based on the current CDC guidelines, we hope that by having our wedding ceremony and reception outdoors we are taking an appropriate safety measure to keep our loved ones safe. We will keep you informed of any changes, so please continue to check out our website for updates.

Currently, we're expecting between 75-85 guests and the venue space is large enough where if you prefer to practice social distancing, you can. Wolf Trap does follow and enforce local/state and CDC guidelines. At this time they are not requiring masks at their outdoor spaces, but if that changes we will update here. Please note, while it's not a requirement for our wedding, we completely understand and respect any guests who may wish to wear a mask on the day. Please note that we won't be supplying masks at the venue, so you will need to provide your own.

As far as we are aware, all of the guests in attendance have received some sort of vaccination against COVID-19. If you are immunocompromised or concerned about the virus, please use your better judgment and make the decision that's right for you. We absolutely understand if you are unable to make it to our wedding due to the pandemic. The only ask that we have of you is to let us know no later than September 15, 2022 so we can let our caterer know.

Will parking be available?

Yes! Wolf Trap has parking on site. If you are unable to drive home after the party, we confirmed with the Park association that cars are allowed to be left overnight and must be picked up before 11am the next day or else it will be towed.

Will transportation be provided?

We will not be providing transportation from the hotels to the venue.

What will I eat?

Catering will be provided by Main Event Caterers. We will have a Seared Cauliflower Steak with roasted carrot puree and chimichurri drizzle for the Vegetarians. Airline breast skillet chicken with garlic confit, lemon zest + parsley lemon white wine sauce as the Chicken option. And a to be announced beef option will be available. If you are vegan or have any allergens, please text us no later than Sept. 1st or note it in your RSVP.

What will the weather be like in October?

No idea. Virginia weather is a game of roulette. Last year on October 9th, it was a high of 72 and a low of 68, let's hope for that. We are having heaters set up in the Reception space, if it does end up being a chilly night.

What time should I arrive?

Ceremony starts at 5, please arrive around an hour before it starts to ensure we can start on time.

Can I bring my kids?

We've noted on the invites for the families who can bring their little ones to the wedding. If your invite does not include this information, please reach out to us and we will do our best to accomodate :) Please also let us know if they have any dietary restrictions or allergens.

Parents - while we are excited to host your younger family members, be aware that the celebrations planned are catered mostly to adults and that the reception will involve alcohol.

I still have quetions, what do I do?

You can email us here!

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

The ceremony takes place at an outdoor theatre and the reception is inside of a pavilion, please see this photo as a reference.
