are getting married
We took a leap of faith, fueled by an arranged marriage (Hinge). After our first date on a cold January day, we had a few memorable dates such as putt putt, a comedy show where Katherine cried her eyes out because it was so funny, and Artechouse.
Then the pandemic happened. We decided to spend two weeks together (remember when we all thought this would be done in 2020), and that turned into two months due to a COVID scare with roommates, but no uhaul to be found (yet). During the pandemic we had a lot of at-home date nights and daily walks around the lake, which helped to deepen our understanding of each other and how we wanted the relationship to grow.
In November of 2020 we took our first road trip together to Boston, MA with two cats in tow and SURVIVED! A few more road and plane trips later, we went to Yosemite in November 2021 where Erin proposed to Katherine at the Tunnel View overlook, it was the most perfect day for us. We are looking forward to building a loving future together and continue to explore this wonderful world hand in hand.
Katherine: When I saw Erin's dating profile I was intrigued. She seemed worldly, kind, nerdy, mysterious, and along the same wavelength with regards to sense of humor. I swiped to match and sent her the first message! We had our first date at a local D.C. restaurant and talked for hours. At the end of the night she gave me a hug and it was the warmest, most welcoming hug I had received. I was excited to go on another date with her, and continue to have that excitement today.
Erin: From that first date in DC Katherine has remained an amazing partner focused on our health and happiness as individuals, and as a couple. Her patience, generous heart, sense of humor, resourcefulness, and love of life brighten my days. I couldn't choose a better person to experience the joys and work through the challenges of life. I am excited to continue our journey together as a married couple.
